3.5 Trillion Dollar Budget.....

Foxnews.com

Economists and conservatives say President Obama's massive $3.55 trillion budget leaves little room for error, and it will be very hard for him to meet his tandem goals of cutting the deficit and sheltering middle-class families from tax increases.

Obama, who released details of his budget for fiscal 2010 on Thursday, said he foresees halving the deficit by 2013. But his budget calls for a $634 billion "reserve fund" to cover the costs of universal health care coverage over 10 years, as well as $200 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through next fall and another contingency fund for the sickly financial sector on top of the $787 billion stimulus bill that he signed last week.

With all these expenditures, many are saying they doubt Obama can reach his deficit goal while keeping his pledge to raise taxes only on couples making more than $250,000 a year.
"He's going to have to start moving down the scale and raising taxes on people making $150,000, people making $100,000 and even people making $75,000," said economist Adam Lerrick, a scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. "You have to increase taxes. It's very simple. You have to pay for this somehow."

The Good News: Obama is at least true to his word - remember how it (Wealth redistribution) slipped out while speaking with Joe The Plumber?

The Bad News: Wealth redistribution has begun and this is just the beginning!

I am now ready to play again.....

Tiger Woods is back in the fight. After a “extended holiday” he is re-joining his buds on the PGA tour! Seriously, it has been north of 250 days since he hit a real golf shot in the heat of battle.

His successful reconstructive knee surgery has put the man back together again. The last time we witnessed his greatness was his victory over Rocco Mediate in US Open on one leg.

The Good News – we can all start watching golf again – the excitement that Tiger Woods is, is back!

The Bad News
– those veterans and newbie’s that did not win anything and those that did win (Harrington, Mickelson, Singh) while Tiger was gone will have to step up their game ‘cause Tiger's got something to prove – he is still the top dog on the PGA!

Just another chimp attack?

Charla Nash who suffered facial and hand injuries in the chimp attack on Monday is making progress but it will be a very long road to recovery! Doctors spent hours repairing her hand and facial injuries. Authorities are considering criminal charges against Sandra Herold, the Travis’ (the chimp) owner. It has been reported she has provide conflicting information to the investigators.

The Good News – Charla Nash is alive – Travis weighed nearly 200 pounds and was as strong as 10 men. She is very lucky to be alive!

The Bad News – Travis is a chimpanzee, a wild animal, a non-domesticated animal no matter if he is wearing diapers, watching TV and drinking champagne – he should have been in a zoo behind iron bars and not living the “suite” life in a home in Connecticut. Shame on the State of Connecticut for “grand-fathering” him in and shame on Sandra Herold for thinking this animal was part of the family. The sad part is she is not alone, can't wait to hear more wild animal mauling stories, you know they are coming.

Obama opposes Fairness Doctrine....wait a minute

As of right now President Obama opposes the Fairness Doctrine. The statement is the first definitive stance the administration has taken since an aide told an industry publication last summer that Obama opposes the doctrine -- a long-abolished policy that would require broadcasters to provide opposing viewpoints on controversial issues.

It has been reported Democratic Rep. Waxman from California met with the FCC discussing how to enact the Fairness Doctrine policies. Now it gets better, he is interested in applying the same standards to the Internet.

The Good News – liberal talk radio will get back on the air without having to compete – because we know they can’t! Remember AirAmerica? You may have already forgotten about it!

The Bad News – it may be just a smoke shield – their backup plan is the “local” rule. They will force stations to carry a percentage of local broadcasting, effectively squeezing out syndicated programs.

The Truth will set you free....if you can find it!!

Did you ever wonder what extreme Political Correctness looks like, sounds like? It is called LYING, the inability to tell the truth why? Because the truth might just hurt someone’s feeling and we can’t have that now, can we?

The Good News – lying is so much easier, you never hurt anyone’s feelings – we will all get along splendidly, right?

The Bad News - if we as a society forget how to be honest with each other, hold each other accountable, confront injustice and un-truths we will become extinct.

USA no More....

Late Friday night our congress passed the largest spending bill in the nations history...and make no mistake it is an old fashioned pork-laden spending bill. Obama "may" be about change; very difficult seeing that when he delegates writing this bill to the liberal ideologs in the house.

The Good News - Good old Nancy Pelosi got the vote pushed through so she could make your European vacation.

The Bad News - Your representatives especially those on the conservative side of the house/senate did NOT even get to read the 1100 page bill....they voted without knowing what is in the BILL! How utterly absurd is that? Rhetorical question!

Here comes Spendulus....

Obama's economic stimulus bill - a massive, $790 billion package of tax cuts and federal spending - is on track for a Friday vote in the House, and the Senate could vote on the bill later in the day or over the weekend. Despite a provision in the bill allowing Americans a 48hr review time, the vote must go on. The bill that was approved by the Senate last week was just north of 700 pages, the compromise bill over 1,400 pages – that defies logic.

The Good News – Americans will get tax credit amounting to approx $1.10 per day, that is one item from the McDonalds dollar menu or a trinket from the dollar store. Better yet - I am going to use my $1 to buy a lottery ticket!

The Bad News – for the $1.10 per day each family will be strapped with over $9000 in national debt – our grandchildren and their grandchildren will have to pay it! It is a crime.

Obama listen up...

The day after Geithner's Banking reform plan fell flat Congressional leaders announced agreement Wednesday on a $789 billion economic stimulus package that President Barack Obama says is needed to create millions of jobs and to pull the economy out of recession.

The Good News – Geithner does not have all the answers and wants to take the time to get it right. Good for him!

The Bad News – Geither’s boss need to take a lesson from his subordinate; Obama needs to do the right thing instead of the most expedient and stop acting like an ideologue!

California set to release 57,000 criminals back on the steets

On Monday a panel of federal judges ruled that want to ease overcrowding in the California prisons. They could release up to 57,000 prisoners and save up to $906 million annually. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation disagrees with the ruling and will appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.

The Good News – the prisoners that are not so lucky to get a “get out of jail” free card will have more personal space, they won’t have to share the remote to the flat screen – maybe now that can ask for seconds at the buffet line.

The Bad News – the money they think they are going to save will be spent by local, state and federal law enforcement arresting the criminals again!

Add A-Rod to the corrupt players union....

How many more times will we need reminded that high paid athletes will do ANYTHING to win? McGwire, Bonds, Clemens and now A-Rod! This is not an isolated event or isolated group of players these are just the big names. They are no different than the common criminal, only when faced with indisputable evidence will they even consider coming clean, some have not reached that point yet!

The Good News – there are still good role models out there – parents, teachers, friends!

The Bad News – more and more athletes remind me of Politian’s …. deny, spin control and only ask for forgiveness if it suits their agenda!

Columbus Blue Jackets win in OT over Sharks

The Columbus Blue Jackets win over Western conference leader - the San Jose Sharks in a 3-2 OT win. Jason Williams and Rick Nash scored the first two Blue Jacket goals. Christian Backman scored at 1:33 of overtime. Dan LaCosta made 28 saves in his first NHL start to help the Blue Jackets snap a three-game losing streak.

The CBJ definitely play better when they are down key players, they play a desparate physical game - we will take the 2 points, for sure.

The Good News - Wade Dubielewicz our newly acquired goalie was out with the flu. It has become painfully obvious that the CBJ can’t win with Dubielewicz in the net – sorry Wade.

The Bad News – Steve Mason the rookie standout is still suffering from mononucleosis, RW Jakub Voracek out with upper body injury, D Mike Commodore out with food poisoning and D Marc Methot had the flu.

Obama's Spendulus.....

Senators have reached a tentative deal on a version of President Obama's economic spending plan, just north of $800 billion in spending and tax cuts, that will win enough Republican votes to move forward. Yes it was reported last night 3 Republicans were convinced to sign-on to the bill; Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, Susan Collins of Maine and Olympia Snow of Maine have agreed to vote for the plan.

The Good News – Ted Kennedy is still alive and was brought back to Washington in the event his vote is needed – hey Dems never mind the guy has brain cancer and suffered a seizure just two weeks ago.

The Bad News – This administration is going to spend over $800 billion in tax payer money on every kind pork-laden program out there. Just listen to the Congressional Budget Office -

“President Obama's economic recovery package will actually hurt the economy more in the long run than if he were to do nothing”, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday.

Obama's Spending ... oops Stimulus Plan

Our “representatives” are on the verge of approving a $900+ billion dollar spending program. Make no mistake it is a spending program, a government spending program. Bigger government, more entitlements and punch to the bell of our free market economy – that is what it is all about.

The Good News – millions of Americans now know what Obama is all about. He is a wolf in sheep clothing. The rhetoric is gone, the rubber will meet the road very soon. It is no longer a campaign you are running Mr. Obama; you are leading a country

The Bad News – Obama thinks we can “spend” our way out of this recession. Keep in mind he is talking about government spending. The government cannot spend its way out of this. He is just wrong. Wrong man, wrong time, wrong plan!

And he is out of here, well maybe....

Bonds may finally be out of here … on his way to federal prison. Court documents released today details that Bonds tested positive for multiple types of steroids. According to his personal trainer he injected performance enhancing drugs “all over the place”.

The Good News – Bonds will have to face the “music”, we can hope he gets what is coming to him! Hey Barry, lying to a grand jury is against the law!

The Bad News – his defense team is trying to limit and/or eliminate any evidence of Bond’s wrong doing from a trail. What kind of judicial system do we have in this country where incriminating evidence is forbidden? Why even conduct a trial?

Two for the price of one

Now isn't this interesting, we have Michelle Obama visiting various cabinet agencies and uses “we” when referring to her husband’s policies. We always suspected she wore the pants in that family.

The Good News – We, tax paying citizens, are only paying one presidential salary

The Bad News – We have an unelected person influencing/making policies in Washington…sort of like 1993 all over again.
